The Day After The Blizzard
The Day After The Blizzard
Welcome to our ". . . Day After the Blizzard" photos! We traveled through the Interstate 80 corridor (Emmigrant Gap, Donner pass/summit, Truckee, etc.), on the weekend of January 14th and 15th, 2006. On the 14th we were caught in a blizzard. A normal two-hour trip took my family exactly eight hours due to many road closures and accidents. We barely escaped some of the cars that were out of control! The road iced over so fast and motorists were not prepared (or careful enough?!). In this album are the 'day after' photos. We thought it was so beautiful after the storm so we took a few pictures of it. We are sorry now that we didn't stop at Donner Summit and take a picture of the 12' high snow-plowed walls of snow! Click on a photo to enlarge it, then you can select to view the full image or insert a comment! There is also a second page to view, just select the number "2" link.
